What is a foundation investigation?

A foundation investigation shows whether the foundation of a house is at risk. Many older houses in Amsterdam stand on wooden piles, which can deteriorate over time. During a foundation risk investigation (phase 0) Premiumkeur measures whether floors and masonry joints are level (a floor levelling survey and a masonry joint measurement). A phase 1 foundation investigation goes further.

How much does a foundation investigation cost?

A foundation risk investigation (phase 0) costs € 399 including VAT when combined with a building inspection. A phase 1 foundation investigation costs € 699 to € 1,499 including VAT, depending on how detailed the investigation is.

How long does it take and when do I receive the report?

A phase 0 foundation risk investigation combined with a building inspection takes about 1.5 hours. You receive the written report within 2 working days.

Is Premiumkeur independent?

Daan came out to do a structural and foundation inspection at an apartment I am considering buying. I was very pleased with the attention to detail, obvious advanced knowledge in these areas and the use of high quality equipment to take measurements. In person explanations were very clear (in English!), with useful tips being offered too. I have had experience with another company’s structural inspection at the same location, and while their report was satisfactory, the level of detail and extra issues found by Daan made paying for the report from Premiumkeur well worth it.
